Refunds and exchanges
(Mail order / internet order customers ONLY)

If you are not happy with your garment, we will gladly refund or exchange it, after it has been returned to us in original condition within 30 days.

Note - do not use surface mail from the USA to return goods. This may take up to 6 months. We recommend standard airmail.

Refunds - if you don't like it, return it within 30 days for a full refund on the price of the garment (mail-order/Internet customers only) - postage is not refundable

Exchanges - if it doesn't fit, return it within 30 days and we will send you another size free of charge (mail-order/Internet customers only).

Postage

Postage rates within Australia are based on weight - up to 500g will cost $5, while over 500g will cost $10. This is the price of the red Parcel Post prepaid satchels we get from Australia Post. One pair of jeans or tracksuit pants weight around 700 - 800g, while most pants are around 350 - 450g.


International orders will be sent via standard air mail (which takes around 1-2 weeks) and the price will vary depending on the destination and weight of your parcel. We will only charge you what it costs us to send your order. Please let us know if you would like to know the postage price before we send your order.

 

Security

We use a Thawte Secure Sockets Layer certificate for encryption of your data from your PC to our secure server, then ADDITIONAL 2048 bit encryption for the transmission of your order from our secure server to the PC in our sales department. This is a step many on-line store omit, often allowing your credit card details to be transmitted via unsecured email even though you used SSL initially. Click here to see an example of what is transmitted. It contains all my personal details, along with my Amex card number and expiry date.

If you have any doubts about transmitting your credit card details over the internet, please select the "please ring me for card details" option and be sure to include your phone number. We will call you back to get your card details.

 

privacy

All information you give us will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. If you join our email list, you will receive a personal email from me when we have items of interest or a new range. No names, addresses or email names will be given or sold to anyone.

duties and taxes

Overseas deliveries may be subject to your local government's duties and taxes. Such charges are the responsibility of the customer. This includes claiming charges already paid if merchandise is returned or exchanged. The following information was forwarded from a lady in the US, who has spoken to US customs...

"Peter:
Hello, thanks for what you knew about US taxes/customs stuff. I continued my search and thought I’d pass along what info I discovered in the event other US customers should ask you. US Customs has a web site: http://www.customs.ustreas.gov/location/ports/il/port1/cmc1.htm
>From this site you can then select a customs office in the US where you can
call or write with questions. The two people I found helpful were by title: an Import Generalist and the most helpful was someone in the Foreign Mail department. Obviously folks will want to check for themselves but I was told the following information:
All charges assessed as duties or taxes on imported purchases for personal use will be determined by the US Postal Service and paid there when you get your package.
Purchases for personal use that are less than a total value of $200 (US dollar exchange rate) would have no charges. For purchases for personal use and valued over $200 the maximum rate would be 31% of the total US dollar value (he said in all likelihood it would be less than that but this is the maximum possible rate). That’s it! Thanks again for your quick response to my questions.

payment options

  • We do NOT accept international cheques or money orders.
  • by credit card — we accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Bankcard. Overseas orders will be credited to our account in Australian dollars (AUD), while your account will be debited at the exchange rate used by The Commonwealth Bank of Australia at the time of processing.
  • by Australian bank cheque — made out to The Long Tall Clothing Company . Goods will be dispatched the working day after we receive the cheque.
